"I miss you."
"I miss you, too."
"How long has it been?"
"Only a week. How's the internship?"
"Boring, but I'm learning a lot. I want to come home. I miss you."
"Is the weather in Phoenix nice?"
"No, it's too hot. I miss you."
"Are you having fun, at least?"
"Not really. I miss you."
"I miss you, too, but I thought we already established that."
"I know. It just...feels like half of my body is back home, sleeping in bed next to you."
"I just looked under the covers. Nothing's there, I promise."
"You know what I meant."
"You're right, I do. I'll let you in on a secret, though."
"Shoot."
"I'll be gone one day, and you'll be alone."
"Wow, some secret..."
"No, listen. Right now, there are seven billion people on the planet. Some had their funerals today. Some got married. Some had birthday parties and so on and so on. Out of all the planets, solar systems, galaxies, and universes still unknown to mankind, we met each other. Out of everybody, I chose you and you chose me."
"What's your point?"
"My point, I guess, is that everything is very small. We're microscopic. No one even knows I'm talking to you right now. Hardly anyone knows who we are. One day, I'll die, and when I do, no one will care except for you."
"Stop saying things like that, you're upsetting me."
"Hold on. One day I'll be dead, but you'll care, and that's enough for me. You understand? And I want you to know that when you die, too, we'll be together. In heaven, or valhalla, or eternal darkness, or whatever comes next. I will personally sit on a fence post next to the gates of hell and wait for your arrival, so we can step in together."
"You're getting tired, aren't you? You always get poetic when you're tired."
"That's besides the point. I'm always going to be next to you, right by your side. And I know that I'd never want to have anybody kiss me unless that person was you... and I know that everything in life is temporary, but I'd take a lifetime of two minutes if it meant I got to have you in it. And eventually it will come to pass that time and distance and countries have fallen and crumbled into the sands of nothingness, and I will still be standing in whatever's left with an arm outstretched, reaching for you."
"What are you trying to say?"
"I don't know. I guess I just miss you."

The Girl Who Was Afraid To Be
She speaks to me fondly
of passions and talents,
of guitars and stars,
with such breathless intensity
then stops short and
apologises
for speaking at all.
All because somewhere in her life,
someone she loved broke her heart
by ignoring
her beautiful words
and telling her to
shut up,
keep it down,
nobody cares.
People aren’t born sad.
We make them that way.
Literature
You said....
You told me “friends forever”,
More like ‘friends for now’,
As your sweet promises
Were just lies I allowed.
You said “we are best friends”,
More like ‘friends at best’,
As your solid affirmations
Were all digressed.
You told me “I need you”
More like ‘you need me’
As your statements
Were my last plea.
Why did you go?
Why did you leave?
I’m left here all alone
Trying, in us, to believe.
Literature
Awareness.
She writes such lovely poems
But nobody really cares
She hides them all the time
To avoid the judging stares
She wrote one yesterday
About a boy who said he loved her
But to her own dismay
She caught him with another
She wrote one about school
And the words painted on her locker
“No one likes you, stupid bitch.
You’re lucky I’m at soccer.”
She wrote about her parents
And how she wished they were together
But she knows that won’t ever happen
And forgetting’s probably better
Yes, she writes such lovely poems
But there’s so much more to this
See, her pencil is a razor
And the paper is her wrist.

when you don't know where it came from that is the best writing
It's your muse talking straight to the paper (or computer in this case, hehe)
