692 (who?)
i.never become a writer.
you will become a perfectionist,
picking life apart
with a magpie's eye,
hunting for the beautiful bits
until you can make yourself
a sparkling throne
in the center of a junkyard. will write when you're sad.
you will write when you're happy.
whenever you feel something,
you will vomit the emotion out
into some sort of literature.
when you're finished,
you'll be empty
and surrounded by
pages and pages of
everything you once were. will try to make
pain sound delicious,
painting over the ragged wounds
with pink paint
and candy-coat lies.

you will learn
how to decorate graveyards.
everyone will play in them,
but you alone will see the headstones.

iv.if you fall in love,
you will turn your love into a poem,
and you will always like your own words
more than you like the real person.

you'll become so selfish
you'll disgust yourself,
but you will not be able to stop.
when love finally fades away,
you'll be ready to write another poem,
one with words like "heartbroken"
and "lonely" and "giving up." will be alone
and stuck repeating
the same words you've written
a hundred times before,
and soon you'll grow
to hate each and every one.

you'll have a million poems
and absolutely
nothing to say.
Okay, I jumped on the bandwagon and decided to write one of those "never _______ a writer" poems. I was inspired by a bunch of them that I read on dA, and I noticed no one had written one about never being a writer in general, so I thought I'd give it a whirl! And I personally don't feel this way. Writing is really hard, but fun and rewarding, I think. :aww:

I feel like I'm spamming you guys because I've been posting like crazy lately. Blame it on summer and free time, I guess. Anyway, thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed! Drop me a comment?

EDIT: ASWORPWQPOIEQFJGSLKDJF GUYYYYYS THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR GETTING THIS TO THE FRONT PAGE! I logged on and almost had a heart attack. Oh my goodness, thank you all so much!

The chemistry between the words is just dumbfounding. Bravo. Again. You continue to amaze me.

Thx and keep up the good work

I love this. I honestly do. Writers really do make the pen and keyboard their lives. I'll find myself writing about anything and everything that comes to mind..but that's not necessarily a bad thing:)

awww thank you so much! I definitely do the same thing, like something will happen in real life and I'll immediately think, "Oh, I could write that into a poem." It sort of takes over your life

I don't think you have to be a writer to do all these things, there's quite a lot of people who hide their wounds and make their life look appealing to others while they themselves hate it, and who love the fantasy rather than the person, being a writer just means that you'll turn all of this into art. Give it some sort of expression. Which can be a very good thing I think, cause that way you get to consider your own choices and well being able to find beauty in even the worst of situations certainly helps as well! ovo

PS this is the first poem about ______ a writer that I actually understand. xD

True, it's the way people go about expressing themselves, I think. It can be a difficult burden, but necessary in order to keep balance in life. Definitely, writers turn pain into art, but someone who doesn't write can do that too in a million different ways!

Yep. Some sublimate and turn their pain into writing, pictures, clothes, other cultural artifacts, others talk about it, others distract themselves with books or TV, and again others become criminals. :'D Many different ways.

I completely understand what you're saying, but, sometimes the reason you started writing is because no one else will listen and paper won't make you feel worse.

I agree, it's good for venting
